Margin of Hope (photograph)

2013, 60x80 cm, photograph on dibond

The photograph is a result of an extending socio-ecological activity carried out by Adam Vackar in Morocco in Atlas Mountains. Adam Vackar stimulated with his activity local population in purpose to engage with the grave ecological problem, the absence of waste recycling and extensive pollution of the natural landscape. The photograph itself stages multitude of contradictory interpretations: the clash of the identity of cultural symbols (Coca-Cola with the Arabic calligraphy) and a clash of hope for clean sustainable environment against the symbol of pollution (message written by a child during one of several workshops and later transcribed by a calligrapher).
