Adam Vačkář, in a film essay he recorded just after the fire in the Czech Switzerland National Park, leaves the viewer with a burnt apocalyptic landscape. Through an original interview with a botanist, film explores the very different, biological aspects of the fire. Although the fire was started by the park ranger, it remains one of the fundamental regenerative processes of the landscape. The film shows the biological narrative of the event, the positive significance of wildfire, commonly perceived as a natural disaster. The film reveals the complexity of the biological processes which wildfires start in the landscape.
